Swanton Soccer Pair Headed to Terra State

https://photos.app.goo.gl/ojc672Jsp6QQXTSM9

It was a two-for-Tuesday afternoon yesterday at Swanton High School as a pair of Bulldog soccer standouts, Bailey DeKoeyer of the girls team and Nick Meisner of the boys team, signed National Letters of Intent to continue their education and soccer career at Terra State Community College in Fremont, Ohio.

“I was going to pick a school in Maryland, but when I went on a tour at Terra it just screamed ‘Go here!’ It just felt more comfortable and it’s close to home,” said Bailey.  According to Lady Bulldog head soccer coach, Bailey’s talent and skills on the defensive side of the ball will serve her well at the next level.  Ironically, even though Bailey had played soccer while growing up, Bailey chose to play volleyball her first three years of high school before joining the Lady Bulldog soccer program her senior year.  She will now be a part of the Lady Titans team and will be majoring in business in the classroom.

Also expected to make an impact on defense, but for the Titan men’s program, Nick believes his 6’3” frame and condor-like wing span will be a major asset when he assumes his natural position as the goal keeper.  “I’ve been playing soccer since I can remember.  I definitely think I’ll do pretty good over there,” he said.  In the classroom, Nick plans on studying nursing to obtain an Associate’s degree as a Registered Nurse (RN).
