This past Friday, September 12^th, was recognized as Armed Forces Day.  In between the first and second quarters of the Swanton vs Liberty Center football game at David W. Hansbarger Stadium, Swanton honored one of their own, Master Sergeant Shaun Hanna.  A tribute to MSgt Hanna was read to the crowd as he stood on the field at the 50-yard line.  It read:

Tonight, we are proud to spotlight and honor Master Sergeant Shaun Hanna, a 2005 graduate of Swanton High School.  Shaun began his military career in the United States Marine Corps as a Russian linguist and went on to serve tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, where he earned the Combat Action Ribbon.  He also completed three additional overseas deployments during his distinguished career.  Pleas join us in thanking a true Hometown Hero, Master Sergeant Shaun Hanna for his service to our country and welcoming home for his 20-year class reunion.
