On Wednesday, Brodey Roth, Delta Panther goalie and last Fall’s NWOAL Goalkeeper of the Year, signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his education and soccer career at Lourdes University in Sylvania. “I got a good package and I like the coaches a lot. The team has a good outlook and we’re going to be pretty good for the next four years,” explained Brodey on why he chose Lourdes. “It’s close to home, close to my family. They have a really cool campus ministry there that I can be a part of to serve my community and do some Bible study,” he added.
“The last four years Brodey’s been a large part of our success. He was a four-year starter and played every game,” remarked Panther boys soccer head coach KJ Abair. “He’s done a phenomenal job back there, especially on the back line. He’s going to be one of our biggest losses going into next year.”
Brodey will be playing for sixth-year Gray Wolves Coach Matt Johnson who also coached Brodey’s summer club team, Pacesetter. In the classroom he will be majoring in Social Studies Education at the 7th-grade to high school level.
