Swanton Boys Golf Team Qualifies for District Tournament
At the OHSAA Boys DII Sectional Tournament held at Eagle’s Landing Golf Club in Oregon, yesterday, the Swanton Bulldogs shot a score of 334 to finish in third place and qualified to move on to the District Tournament next week. The Ottawa Hills Green Bears and the Genoa Comets took first and second place with rounds of 305 and 317, respectively, and will join the Bulldogs next week at Maumee Bay Golf Course, also in Oregon. The Delta Panthers finished in fifth place with a 337, the Archbold Blue Streaks took sixth with a 349, the Bryan Golden Bears were eighth with a 358 and the Wauseon Indians finished in tenth place with a 364 in the 12-team field. Qualifying individually were Delta’s Lane Lopez with a 73 (+1), Archbold’s Grady Short with a 74 (+2) and Bryan’s Kai Dauber with a 79 (+7).
