Curated Chaos Opens on Swanton’s Main Street

Late Saturday morning, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to announce the opening of Curated Chaos, a bodega-sized retail shop located at 111 South Main Street, tucked in between Gypsy Soul and the Main Street Trading Post. The newest Swanton business came about when its owner, Heather Schneider, suddenly found herself out of a job after working 22 years for a Fortune 500 Company that was down-sizing.
“I was doing some things to occupy myself. I didn’t want my kids see me sitting around feeling sorry for myself so I started making things,” explained Heather, the Delta mother of four. Several of my friends said, ‘Why don’t you sell some of that stuff?’ and I thought why not?” When the space became available, she jumped at the opportunity with complete support from her family.
Curated Chaos promises a shopping experience like no other, curated by Heather, who has meticulously collected and created a diverse array of unique items. From vintage and vintage-adjacent clothing and jewelry to pop culture and concert tees, books, candles, vinyl records, furniture, and a myriad of other intriguing pieces, there’s something to pique the interest of every visitor.
“We’re thrilled to bring Curated Chaos to the heart of Swanton,” said Heather. “Our collection is a celebration of individuality and creativity, offering a curated selection of items that you won’t find anywhere else.”
To start, the hours of operation will be Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM as well as a pop-up schedule, Curated Chaos encourages patrons to stay updated on their Facebook page for the latest information. “We want to ensure that our visitors have the best experience possible, so we encourage everyone to check our Facebook page or message us before stopping in,” added Ms. Schneider.
